A New Light in Dark Times: The Red Sox Metaphor and Why It Matters Now

Humanity stands at a precipice. For 24 years since the shadow of 9/11 darkened our world, we’ve been ensnared in a relentless "Curse of Endless War"—a cycle of political dysfunction, a staggering $37 trillion U.S. debt, and a Global Income Inequality Crisis that widens the gap between the few who soar and the billions left behind. The specter of nuclear conflict looms, and division threatens to unravel the fabric of nations. In this darkness, despair feels inevitable—unless we find a light to break through. Today, I believe that light is within reach, and I’m turning to an unlikely source: the Boston Red Sox.

Why the Red Sox, and why now? Because their journey is more than a sports saga—it’s a beacon of what’s possible when we dare to break a curse, unite as a team, and fight darkness with light.

Twenty-one years ago, in the heat of a 2004 brawl, Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek smashed his mitt into Alex Rodriguez’s face, igniting the end of an 86-year drought known as the "Curse of the Bambino." That act of defiance set the stage for a miraculous 2004 World Series victory, followed by three more championships, proving that unity and grit can rewrite destiny.

Today, as I launch the "Save The American Union Manifesto" with 388 tweets, I see the Red Sox’s story as a metaphor for our global struggle. We face our own curse—one of endless division, war, and inequality that threatens humanity’s soul. The Red Sox broke their curse by standing together against the "Evil Empire" of the Yankees, not just with money but with light: community efforts like the Jimmy Fund, leadership that elevated every player, and a fanbase that believed. Likewise, we can shatter this cycle by uniting 300 million American caregivers—per my manifesto—to end the Global Income Inequality Crisis and lead humanity beyond this post-9/11 darkness.

The Red Sox’s journey offers a roadmap. In 2004, they overcame 86 years of heartbreak with a comeback for the ages, defeating the Yankees 4-3 after trailing 3-0 in the ALCS. In 2013, they healed Boston after the Marathon bombing, rallying with a 97-65 season and a World Series win, their unity a balm for a wounded city. In 2018, they showcased teamwork and redemption, outplaying the Yankees with a record 108 wins and another championship. These moments teach us that some prizes can’t be given—they must be taken, just as we must reclaim control from the forces of division.

This metaphor is the heart of my vision, a call to action for sports lovers, dreamers, and all who believe in destiny. My manifesto, now live on my X page, is a strategic plan to save the American Dream, and create a more equal world. The Red Sox remind us that even the longest curses can be broken, that teamwork can heal, and that the power of unity can turn underdogs into champions.

Now, in 2025, their story can inspire us to heal the world. Today, I’ve gone live with this plan, urging us to fight with light and believe in the "magic story" of humanity’s rise. If the Red Sox could overcome 86 years of darkness, we can overcome 24 years of our own. Let’s join as a team and take back the prize of a better future—for all of us.

On Patriots Day... also known as Marathon Monday, dreams were very much coming true. 

Money was being raised for charity, African athletic dominance was on display for the whole world to see. And for thousands upon thousands... months and sometimes years of very hard work had a 'finish line' that was finally in sight.

'The Secret' behind making any American Dream come true is the willingness to pay the price for the dream... in 'Blood, Sweat and Tears'. On Marathon Monday 2013, that 'secret' was being shared with the world... until EVERYTHING came to a bloody stop.

For a time, the two brothers who brought so many dreams to a horrific end with their dream of glorious jihad... well, they pursued dreams in America too. 

But All American Dreams have periods of doubt and disbelief... and that's when The Disease of Muslim Extremism shredded their hopes and dreams.

The Radicals always insist that it isn't the fact that the would-be terrorists' wisdom and beliefs 'don't measure up' in this modern world... but that it is Our World that is corrupt, dirty and unclean. In their twisted view of things, in order to prove fidelity to God, you must be willing to purge the world of infidels... and that's where the murder of innocents comes in.

By the time the bombs went off... 'the elite runners' had already crossed the finish line and were well out of harm's way and that's when the horrific symbolic irony became crystal clear:

The type of character that it takes for an 'average' runner to complete a marathon... IS THE EXACT SAME CHARACTER that it takes for any 'average' person to achieve their American Dream.

It's the type of Character these two murderous thugs stopped developing when they allowed The Disease of Muslim Extremism to take control of their souls.

The reason Muslim Extremism is so seductive is because the unholy narrative of the terrorist 'Puppet Masters' has would-be terrorists believing that the 'Blood, Sweat and Tears'... should be that of anyone but--- THE PUPPET MASTER in charge.

And by buying that line, even though they thought they were serving God... these two brothers 'Made a Deal with The Devil'.

If you have never felt the sting of humiliation, then you probably don't yet fully understand just how seductive The Islamic version of 'The Blame Game' can be... and why it's so necessary today for All of US to finally join together and once and for all, take control of the narrative and make this fight... a fight over Dreams.

Why?

Because America is still...

AMERICA... it's finally time for ALL OF US to think about the idea that 'The Patriots' are a...

Team of Destiny.

ONCE UPON A TIME… no matter what role they played, each member of The Patriots was held to the highest possible standards at all times.

And when the game was over, win or lose... there was no blame game---

each member of the team took their appropriate share of the responsibility, vowed to get better and then, they all moved on together to the next game.

The People in New England called this...

The Patriots won just about every game because they had a tough smart Head Coach and because…

Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round and for a while he led with The Underdog Spirit and a huge ‘chip on his shoulder’.

They won just about every game because Brady’s teammates knew… if Tom Brady could play in The NFL much, much, much better than anyone expected him to play, by outworking and outthinking everyone… 

so could they.

Bill Belichick had a plan and Tom Brady led by example and together they brought out the best in everyone.

Unfortunately, now...

 THE PATRIOTS SUCK!

The Patriots suck because Bill Belichick let his Authoritarian instincts get the best of him.

He wanted everyone to know The Patriots were HIS team and that he was the one in control.

So, he hired his sons to be ‘his eyes and ears’ and chased Tom Brady away.

The Patriot Way... is dead in Foxboro and when Bill Belichick became a ‘loser’ he got himself fired. 

NOW… The Patriots are…

America’s Cautionary Tale about how quickly Authoritarianism can destroy a once winning culture. 

Obviously, Donald Trump is an Authoritarian.

But so are The People who control The Democratic Party.
